Swelling can be a sign of infection, which needs prompt attention. Apply a cold compress to the outside of the face and call us right away — don't wait it out, as some infections need treatment to keep them from spreading. If your child has trouble breathing or swallowing, treat it as a medical emergency and seek immediate care.
